Ruth B. (Kunsaitis) Gadilauskas, 85, of Worcester, died Saturday, July 20, 2013 in Millbury Healthcare Center, Millbury. She is survived by her husband of sixty-five years, Vito C. Gadilauskas. She also leaves, a son Paul R. Gadilauskas of Orem, UT; two daughters, Joan M. Voyer and her husband John of Portland, ME and Lynn M. DellaPasqua of York, ME; a sister Monica Savolis of Worcester; eight grandchildren, Carly E. Peters and her husband, Adam of Portland, ME, Andrew J.Voyer and his wife, Anna Derryberry of Arlington, VA, Paul R. Gadilauskas, Jr. and his wife, Carly of Salt Lake City, UT, Elizabeth Gadilauskas of Bath ME, Karin Odegard and her husband, Kelvin Odegard of Fairbanks, AK, Lucy Gadilauskas of Bath, ME, Jake DellaPasqua of York, ME and Matthew Gadilauskas of Nashua, NH; three great grandchildren, Emmerson and Elijah Peters of Portland, ME and Winter Gadilauskas of Salt Lake City, UT and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by a son Donald P. Gadilauskas and a sister, Anne Matukaitis. Ruth was born in Worcester a daughter of William and Domicella (Anasauskas) Kunsaitis.
Mrs. Gadilauskas was a retired postal clerk with the Unites States Post Office. She was the first female postal clerk hired in the Worcester division and was a member of NAARFE. A parishioner of Our Lady of Lourdes Church, she was a member of the former St. Casimir's Church, where she sang in their choir and was a Fourth Degree night of the Knights of Lithuania Council 26. Ruth enjoyed spending time with her family. She enjoyed going to the beach, especially traveling to Cape Cod and Maine. She enjoyed playing card games and reading and an occasional trip to the casino.
The funeral will be held on Thursday, July 25, 2013 from DIRSA-MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 298 Grafton St., Worcester, MA, with a Mass at 10:30 AM in Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 1290 Grafton St. Burial will be in St. John Cemetery. Calling hours in the funeral home will be Wednesday, July 24, 2013 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. The Knights of Lithuania will gather at 6:00 PM to perform their ritual.
