WORCESTER___Brone "Bernice" (Stadalnikas) Tamasauskas, 104, of Worcester passed away Friday, January 13, 2012. Her husband, John Tamasauskas died in May of 1993. She is survived by her two daughters, Zina Zigmont and her husband, Vincent, with whom she lived and Lynn Mattrick and her husband, John. She also leaves six grandchildren, Vincent J. Zigmont and his wife Carol, Robert J. Zigmont and his wife Linda, Ronald P. Zigmont and his wife Beth, Karen Pajer and husband John, Jill Nutile and Keith Mattrick; eleven great grandchildren, Brittany, Anthony, James, Nolan, Natalie, Will, Ryan, Michelle, Kaitlyn, Samantha and Jennifer. She was predeceased by siblings, Justin and Salomeja of Australia. Brone was born in Lithuania a daughter of Jurgis and Ursule (Zeukiute) Stadalnikas and immigrated to the United States in 1949.
Mrs. Tamasauskas was a retired cafeteria assistant from Becker Junior College prior to her retirement. She was a member of the former St. Casimir Church and St. John Church. She enjoyed bingo and tending her flower garden. Bernice volunteered many years as a summer cook at the Franciscan Monastery in Maine. The family would like to thank the loving and caring staff of the Millbury Adult Daycare Center (particularly, Bell, Lisa , Rusty and Janet) for the many good times Brone had there and friends she made.
The funeral will be held, Tuesday, January 17, 2012 from DIRSA-MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 298 Grafton St., with a Mass at 10:00 am in St. John Church, 40 Temple Street. Entombment will be in Notre Dame Chapel Mausoleum. Calling hours in the funeral home will be Monday, January 16, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. www.worcesterfuneral.com
