Robert Regis Toomey, 57, of Worcester died on Sunday February 22, 2015 in St. Vincent's Hospital. He was preceded in death by his father, James M. Toomey and he is survived by his loving and caring wife, Venusa. He is survived by his children in Hawaii, Sarah (Richard) Gabres, Jonathan (Keisha) Toomey, Subrina and seven grandchildren. He is also survived by his mother, Sara and brothers, Michael (Lisa), Gilbert, Paul (Donna), Tom (Leyni), David (Shannon) and sisters, Fran (John) Mys, Mary (Joseph) Mongolier, Julie (Dave) Prescott, and Michele.
He was born in Columbus, Ohio and was a U.S. Navy veteran.
Mr. Toomey was a Tech Support Engineer II for Raytheon Corp. in Andover and worked under the I.D.S. Division. Robert enjoyed sports and was a fan of the New England Patriots, the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Celtics. During his time in the Navy he played basketball and was a guard with his Navy team which reached the league championship.
Calling hours will be held on Friday February 27, 2015 from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. in DIRSA-MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 298 Grafton Street, Worcester. A funeral service for Robert will be held at 3:45 P.M. during the calling hours.
