FITCHBURG___Robert A. Listewnik, 69, of Fitchburg died Thursday, June 23, 2016 at UMass Memorial Medical Center, Worcester. He is survived by his two children; Nathan Listewnik of Xiamen China and Holden; Sarah Anzalone and her husband Philip of Leominster; former wife of thirty years Suzel Listewnik of Holden; sister, Barbara Carsus of Auburn; brother, Kenneth Listewnik and his wife Debra of Oxford; grandson, Eli Anzalone of Leominster; nieces and nephews. He was born in Worcester, son of Wallace H. and Stella (Kackiela) Listewnik. His brother-in-law, Ken Carsus, predeceased him. Mr. Listewnik taught Math at St. Bernard's C.C. High School in Fitchburg and later retired from St. Peter-Marian High School in Worcester. He graduated from St. Mary's High School in Worcester, received a Bachelor Degree from Worcester State University and earned a Master's Degree from Fitchburg State University. Bob was a dedicated New England sports fan, a member of the "Kielbasi Kids", and part of the historic St. Mary's New England Championship Basketball Team of 1963-64. Bob was also an avid pool player at St. Joseph's club and enjoyed traveling with the guys. Bob enjoyed spending time with his friends and family. He looked forward to the annual cousin's weekend at the cape, relaxing by the lake in Maine, family coffee dates, walks with his grandson, and playing Sudoku. For those who knew him certainly understood his quirky sense of humor! He was a quiet, patient, kind, fun-loving man who will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Calling hours at HENRY-DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward Street, Worcester will be held on Monday, June 27, 2016 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. Funeral Services are private.
