Richard X. Cashman, 71, of Worcester, died Tuesday June 16, 2015 in UMASS Memorial Medical Center, 55 Lake Ave North.
He leaves his sister, Madeline R. Shepard and her husband Arthur of Charleston, S.C., and several nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his four brothers, James J., John W., Eugene M., and Stephen C. Cashman. Richard was born in Worcester, son of the late James J. Cashman, Sr., and Mabel (Conway) Cashman and has lived in Worcester all of his life.
Mr. Cashman was a maintenance and buildings service worker at the College of the Holy Cross for several years. He was a member of St. Stephen's Church and was a champion checkers player in several Special Olympics.
The funeral will be held on Monday June 22, 2015 from DIRSA-MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 298 Grafton Street, with a Mass at 10:00 .AM. in St. Stephen Church, 357 Grafton Street. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery. Calling hours in the funeral home are Sunday June 21, 2015 from 3:00 to 5:00 P.M.
