WORCESTER___ Mary Lou (Brewster) McCarthy, 79, of Worcester passed away on Friday, May 27, 2016 in St. Vincent Hospital. She is survived by her children, Thomas L. Russell, Gary M. Russell, Carlene E. Russell, all of Worcester and Richard M. Russell of Barre; 11 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren; brother John Brewster of North Grafton; sister, Anna Saucier of Ocala, FL. She is predeceased by a son, Charles J. McCarthy, Jr., and grandson Trevor M. Russell. She was born in Marlborough, MA, a daughter of Rolland S. and Helen L. (Wheeler) Brewster.
Mrs. McCarthy worked as a paralegal assistant for Central Massachusetts Legal Services Law Practice and later worked at Mass Law Reform Institute in Boston, from where she retired. She graduated from Quinsigamond Community College in 1974. Mary Lou was an avid reader who also enjoyed watching sports including the Red Sox, NASCAR and tennis. Her family was important to her and the center of her world. Services are private.
