Mary (Kisten) Jocz - Joyce, 93, of Auburn, formerly of Holden, died peacefully Tuesday December 17, 2013 in the Life Care Center of Auburn. Her husband of 51 years, John J. Jocz died in 1991.
She is survived by a brother-in-law, Walter Dzieniszewski and several nieces and nephews. Mary was predeceased by her son, Dennis J. Jocz in 1985 and also by a brother and sister, Peter A. Kisten and Helen M. Dzieniszewski. She was born and raised in Worcester, a daughter of Anthony and Mary (Zuk) Kisten and lived there until moving to Millbury in 1955. She lived there 20 years before moving to Holden. Mary has resided in Auburn for several years.
Mrs. Jocz-Joyce was a graduate of Worcester Girl's Trade High School. She was an office clerk for the Fair Dept. Store in Worcester 9 years and retired in 1991. Before then she worked for Telechron Co. in Worcester. Mary was a member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, Worcester, the Guild of Our Lady of Providence and the 49ers Club. After retiring she was a volunteer several years for the Fallon Clinic.
The funeral will be held on Saturday December 21, 2013 from HENRY-DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward Street, Worcester with a Mass at 10:30 A.M. in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 34 Ward Street, Worcester. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester. A calling hour will be held on Saturday December 21 from 9:00 to 10:00 A.M. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen St., Framingham, Ma., 01701.
