Mary Ella (Walker) Flynn, 92, of Worcester, went home peacefully, Saturday April 25, 2015 surrounded by family members. Mary Ella was born and raised in Brantley, Alabama a daughter of Henry and Mattie Walker and later lived a short time in Indiana before returning to Alabama where she lived until coming to Worcester in 2011. She was predeceased by her husband John Henry Flynn.
Mary Ella is survived by a daughter, Annette Coleman, a brother, Ram Walker, sisters, Alberta Walker, Lottie May Prutte and Betty Walker, four grandchildren, Ronnie Carpenter, Diane Williamson, Fletcher Carpenter and his wife Laura Carpenter with whom Mary Ella made her home and Theresa Berry. She also leaves 26 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by a grandson, Frederick Carpenter, a great-granddaughter Crystal Carpenter and four brothers, Judge Walker, Cebo Walker, Norman Walker and David Walker.
Mary Ella Flynn was a great woman, mother, grandmother and friend. She loved to fish and garden. She was a homemaker, chef and farm worker. Mary Ella was a very fashionable woman that loved her tan fishing hat and enjoyed collecting dolls and teddy bears.
A Celebration of Mary Ella Flynn's Life will be held on Thursday April 30, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. in DIRSA-MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 298 Grafton Street. A calling hour will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. Thursday morning before the service. Interment will follow in Hope Cemetery, Worcester.
