Linda Maria (Zordan) Russo passed away Monday, April 27, 2015 in the loving company of family and close friends, after a life of facing multiple challenges head on. She leaves behind her daughter Christina Russo and granddaughter Hailey Heckman and her sons Sean Russo (Frick) and Michael Russo (Frack). She is also survived by brothers, Billy, Brian and Dennis Gallant, Donald (Chipper) and Daniel (Fonzy) Zordan and Daniel (Danny) Carey. She also leaves behind her companion of nine years Bill Blanchette, as well as, many treasured nieces, nephews, aunt, uncles, friends and coworkers. She was predeceased by her mother Edith (Cronin) Carey, father Donald Zordan and brothers Michael Gallant and Richard Carey.
Linda was a graduate of Burncoat Sr. High School and Salem State University. She proudly served in the United States Air Force Reserve. Linda worked many years for St. Vincent's Hospital and UMASS Memorial patient accounts department. Linda was a caring and loving mother figure to everyone. Her smile, sharp wit, beautiful laugh, and sense of humor will be sadly missed by all who knew her. Linda's positive attitude and tenacity sustained her throughout her many challenges in life. Linda's legacy of strength, independence and courage should be a lesson to us all.
Her family would like to thank all the professionals, family, friends and colleagues who collaboratively encouraged Linda every day to continue to meet her challenges.
The funeral will be held on Friday, May 1, 2015 from HENRY-DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward St., with a Mass at 10:30 AM in St. John Church, 40 Temple Street. Burial will be private. Calling hours in the funeral home will be on Thursday, April 30, 2015 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm.
