WORCESTER___Irena (Zielinska) Stepien, 93, of Worcester died Tuesday, August 30, 2016 in her home. Her husband, Walter Stepien died in 1998. She is survived by her children, daughter Krystyna D. Stepien of Mamaroneck, NY; sons, Peter R., Edmund C., Thaddeus J. and Michael S. Stepien, all of Worcester; seven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her three sisters, Zofia Moniak, Lillian Kline and Mioruslaw Lorence. She was born in Huta Stepanska, Poland, a daughter of Stanislaw and Stanislawa (Chomicz) Zielinski.
Mrs. Stepien was a homemaker. She was a member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Church and the queen Hedwig Society of the Polish National Alliance, society NO, 758.
The funeral will be held on Saturday, September 3, 2016 form HENRY-DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward St., with a Mass at 10:00 a.m., in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 34 Ward Street. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours in the funeral home will be Friday, September 2, 2016 form 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 34 Ward St., Worcester, MA 01610. www.worcesterfuneral.com
