Henryka (Zelazna) Macko, 93, of Worcester, died Friday September 11, 2015 in Worcester Rehabilitation & Health Care Center. Her husband, Jozef Macko died in 1966.
She is survived by her six children, Halina Chojnowska and her husband Stanislaw of Poland; Jadwiga Parzych and her husband Jan of Auburn; Irena Wegrowska and her husband Aleksander of Poland; Stanislaw Macko and his wife Barbara, Marek Macko and his wife Marianna and Andrzej Macko and his wife Agnieszka all of Worcester; 17 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, a brother Eugeniusz Zelazny and his wife Dorota of Poland and several nieces and nephews. She was born in Bozenica, Poland. She is the daughter of the late Telesfor and Katarzyna (Szymanska) Zelazny and was predeceased by a brother and two sisters.
Mrs. Macko raised her children with her husband and worked on their farm in Poland. She loved horses, gardening, cooking and crocheting. She moved to the United States in 1981 and worked as a housekeeper until she retired. Most of all, she loved to be with her family, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mrs. Macko was a member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Church. The family wishes to thanks the staff of Worcester Rehabilitation & Health Care for the compassionate care given to Henryka.
The funeral will be held on Saturday September 19, 2015 with a Mass at 9:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 34 Ward Street, Worcester, Massachusetts. Calling hours will be on Friday, September 18, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in HENRY-DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward Street, Worcester, Massachusetts. Burial will be in Lomza, Poland.
