Helen Louise (Piccinino) Mangini, 88, of Worcester died on Sunday July 3, 2016 in St. Vincent Hospital, Worcester. Her husband of 66 years, Frank M. Mangini, Jr. died in 2015.
She leaves her daughter Elaine DeCaro and her husband Frank of Worcester; a brother, Leonard Piccinino and his wife Lucy of California; four sisters, Yolanda Minchillo, Carmella Gill and Natalie Zois all of Worcester and Gloria Trafacante of Northborough. She leaves nieces, nephews whom she took care of when they were younger, she also leaves grand nieces and grand nephews including Sevrina and Doug that she would babysit. She was predeceased by two brothers, Joseph Piccinino and Armando Piccinino. Helen was born in Worcester, a daughter of Giacomo and Marie Sevrina (D'Errico) Piccinino and lived here all of her life.
Mrs. Mangini was employed by Venerini Academy and worked there about 20 years before retiring. Before then Helen had worked for Rovezzi's Restaurant then on Main Street in Worcester and had also worked for Telechron. As a teenager she first worked at Memorial Hospital, Worcester. She was a member of the Son's of Italy. Helen was a fantastic cake decorator and a skilled seamstress. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed working in her flower and vegetable gardens. She enjoyed cooking and was known for her ravioli's. Helen was a wonderful dog sitter to her grand dogs.
The funeral will be held on Thursday July 7, 2016 with a service at 11:00 A.M. in DIRSA – MORIN FUNRAL HOME, 298 Grafton Street. Entombment will follow in St John's Cemetery Mausoleum. A calling hour will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. on Thursday July 7, 2016 before the service in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Christopher House, Brookside Unit, in memory of Helen Mangini, 10 Marcy Scano Dr., Worcester, Ma., 01605.
