Helen M. (Evanowski) Peltier, 92, of Worcester passed away on Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at the Webster Manor Healthcare Center. Her husband Joseph A. Peltier died in 1999. She is survived by three sons; Joseph W. Peltier and his wife Eileen of Webster, Robert E. Peltier and his wife Meg of Worcester, Raymond R. Peltier and his wife Cheryl of Webster; daughters, Meghan M. Rinker and her husband Richard of Carver, MA and Kathleen P. Uhl and her husband Skip of South Kingston, RI; fifteen grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by brothers, Walter and Benjamin Evanowski; sisters Louise Hagen and Jean Nowak. Born in Worcester, she was a daughter of the late Bronislaus and Veronica (Krajewska) Evanowski
Mrs. Peltier attended Girls Trade High School. She was a longtime employee of the former Jackson Sportswear. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church and was an active volunteer and member of their Woman's Guild. She was a resident at Lafayette Place where she served as an officer of the Social Club. Besides being an excellent cook, Helen liked to play Bingo. She also enjoyed watching sports, music and dancing. Of all her interests, spending time with her family was her favorite, and brought her the most joy.
The family would like to acknowledge the tender heartfelt care of the staff of Webster Manor who cared for "Babci" over the past six years and helped to make her stay one of love and comfort.
The funeral will be held on Saturday, October 31, 2015 from Henry–Dirsa Funeral Service, 33 Ward Street with a Mass at 10:00 am in Sacred Heart- St. Catherine Church, 600 Cambridge Street. Entombment will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery Mausoleum, 162 Webster Street. Calling hours in the funeral home will be Friday, October 30, 2015 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Sacred Heart Church Fund, 596 Cambridge Street, Worcester, MA 01610 or The Alzheimer's Association, 480 Pleasant Street, Watertown, MA 02472
