Helen A. (Zawistowska) Krol, 90, formerly of Worcester, passed away at Lutheran Rehabilitation and Skilled Care Center. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 65 years, Tadeusz M. Krol, who died in June of 2013. She is survived by her three daughters, Nancy Aucoin and her husband Ronald of Auburn with whom she resided for the past four years, Patricia Whiffen and her husband John of Clermont, FL, and Deborah Krol of Auburn; four grandchildren, Laura Aucoin Bjork and her husband Corey, and Daniel Aucoin, all of Auburn; Jack Whiffen and Katherine Whiffen, both of Clermont, FL; a step-grandson Robert Aucoin; a brother, Chester Zawistowski and his wife Patricia of Millbury; a sister, Hedwig Larson of Marblehead; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her three brothers, Joseph, Stanley, and Walter Zawistowski; two sisters, Genevieve Zawistowska and Mary Zawistowska known as Sr. M. Evelyn of the Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth. She was born in Worcester on May 13, 1924, a daughter of Joseph and Anna (Zambrzycka) Zawistowski.
Mrs. Krol was a member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Church and a graduate of St. Mary's High School in Worcester. Prior to her marriage Helen worked as photograph developer at Livingston's Photo.
Helen was a loving wife, an exceptionally caring mother and grandmother, a devoted daughter and sister, a proud aunt, and a caring friend. She thoroughly enjoyed being a homemaker and her family was her pride and joy. She especially loved caring for her grandchildren, and helping others. She will be greatly missed by all who had the good fortune to know her. She had a lovely smile and a kind word for everyone she met.
The Krol family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all of the staff at the Lutheran Rehabilitation & Skilled Care Center for the dedicated and compassionate care given to Helen during her brief stay there.
The funeral will be held on Friday, April, 17, 2015 from HENRY - DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward St., with a Mass at 10:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 34 Ward St. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery.
