Genevieve P. (Bendoraitis) Rose, 90, of Worcester went home to the Lord on Saturday, October 15, 2016 from The Lutheran Rehabilitation and Skilled Care Center, 26 Harvard St. She is survived by her three sons, Arthur M. Rose his wife Nancy of Worcester, Donald Rose and his wife Jeanne of Bradenton, FL and Steven Rose and his wife Paula of Avon, MA; four grandchildren; six great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her brothers Stanley and Alphonse Bendoraitis; sisters, Ann Laukaitis and Joanne Valente. She was born in Worcester, the daughter of Joseph and Agatha (Purvinskas) Bendoraitis.
A lifelong Worcester resident, Mrs. Rose worked as a waitress in area restaurants retiring from the Plaza Club in 1995 after fourteen years. Prior to that she was a hotel manager at the Driftwood Motor Lodge. She graduated from Commerce High School, Class of 1944. Besides raising her family, Genevieve liked to spend time at Lake Park to enjoy the sun. She also enjoyed traveling to Connecticut, Atlantic City and Las Vegas to venture chance. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thankyou to the staff of Summit Elder Care and the Lutheran Home for their kind and considerate care of their mother.
The funeral will be held on Thursday, October 20, 2016 from HENRY - DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward St., with a service at 11:30 a.m. in Notre Dame Cemetery Mausoleum Chapel, 162 Webster Street prior to entombment. A calling hour in the funeral home will be on Thursday, October 20, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lutheran Rehabilitation and Care Center, 26 Harvard Street, Worcester, MA 01609.
