WORCESTER____Edward J. Banach, 88, of Worcester, died Sunday, June 26, 2016 in UMass Memorial Medical Center- University Campus. His wife Eleanora (Sullivan) Banach died in 2013. He is survived by his daughter, Maryanna Banach of Worcester; two sons, Bruce E. Banach and his wife Lynne and James Banach, all of Oxford; three grandchildren, Shawn, Delia, and Joshua Banach and his fiancée Mary-Anne; one great grandchild, Eleanora Rose Banach; two brothers, Wallace Banach and Reverend Henry Banach; nieces and nephews. Edward was born in Worcester, a son of Joseph and Antonina (Stomski) Banach.
Mr. Banach worked as a wire drawer for many years at Johnson Steel and Wire Company before his retirement. He was a US Navy veteran serving during World War II. He graduated from the former Commerce High School. Edward was a member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Church.
The funeral will be held Tuesday, July 5, 2016 with a Memorial Mass at 10:30 am in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 34 Ward Street. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. HENRY-DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward St., is assisting the family
