WORCESTER___Bertha E. (Maillet) Guzas, 97, of Worcester passed away Wednesday, October 21, 2015 in the Golden Living Center. Her husband Victor B. Guzas died in 1985. She is survived by her son Robert P. Guzas and his wife Sandra of Nashua; niece and constant companion Deborah Collette of Worcester; half-brothers, Alvin, George, and Ronald Maillet, all of New Brunswick, Canada; sister, Yvonne Carbonneau of Harwich; half-sister, Evelyn Dionne of Canada; four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She is predeceased by a daughter Donna M. Guzas; brothers, Acquilla, Vincent, Emory, Leo and Charles Maillet and sisters Viola Richard and Lillian Leger. She was born in Salem, MA a daughter of Magliore and Celine (Richard) Maillet.

Raised in Canada, Mrs. Guzas returned to the United States in 1937. She worked as a clerk at Tom's Market for several years prior to retiring. She previously worked at Johnson Steel Company and also worked at Carbonneau Shoe Store. She was a member of St. Stephen Church.

The funeral will be held on Thursday, October 29, 2015 with a Memorial Mass at 10:00 AM in Saint Stephen Church, 357 Grafton Street. DIRSA-MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 298 Grafton St. is assisting the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Stephen Church Restoration Fund, 16 Hamilton St., Worcester, MA 01604.
