Andrew Anthony Koval, Jr, 82, of Shrewsbury passed away peacefully on Wednesday September 7, 2016 after a short battle with stage 4 Lung cancer. Andrew leaves many friends and loved ones: Loretta Keenan, Sandra Locke, Charles Genovesi, Linda Acciardo and caretakers and family friends, David K. Powers, Ashley Powers and Goddaughter, Stefanie Powers. He was born and raised in Worcester, son of the late Andrew A. and Mary (Straitis) Koval.
He lived in Shrewsbury and moved to and from New York and China. Andy was an award winning fashion designer specifically in wedding dress design. He Attended Art School and served about four years in the U.S. Army until 1962. Andrew was creative, inspiring and loved by everyone who was privileged to know him. He was a lover of all things historical, art, archaeology, yard sales, auctions and flea markets.
Calling hours will be held on Monday September 12, 2016 from 4:00 to 6:00 PM in DIRSA-MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 298 Grafton Street, Worcester. A graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family in St. John's Cemetery, Worcester. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Andrew's memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
