WORCESTER___Vincent R. Stakun, 93, of Worcester, passed away on Thursday, June 23, 2016 in UMass Memorial Medical Center, Memorial Campus. He is survived by his sister-in-law, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. The last of five children, he is predeceased by brothers, Joseph and Nedwin Stakun; sisters, Margaret Gersbach and Hedwig Kisiel. He was born in Worcester, a son of Joseph and Kazimiera (Jankoc) Stakun.
Mr. Stakun worked at the family grocery market for many years prior to retirement. He also worked as a machinist at Reed Prince Company. He graduated from Commerce High School and post graduate studies at Worcester Boys Trade School. He was a US Army Veteran of World War II. Vinnie was also a member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Church.
Graveside committal services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Thursday September 15, 2016 in St. John Cemetery (St. Joan of Arc section), 260 Cambridge Street. HENRY - DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward St., is privileged to assist the family with services.
