WORCESTER___Bernice M. Boucher, age 89, formally of Oxford, MA passed peacefully Friday, May 1, 2015 in the Odd Fellows Home in Worcester. She is predeceased by her husband Cyrice A. Boucher in 1972, her son Kevin L. Boucher in 1985 and her brother Howard E. Davis in 2004. She leaves a daughter, Sharon L. Penny and her husband Joseph of Worcester, a son Curtis J. Boucher and his wife Gina of Northborough; five grandchildren, Andrea, Jamie, Gianna, Ian and Ryan; four great-grandchildren, Kason, Bryce, Stella and Jude; sister and brother in law, Therese and Robert Black; many nieces and nephews. Bernice was born in Oxford, a daughter of Chester S. and Daisy M. ( Case) Davis. She graduated from Oxford High School in 1944 in Oxford, MA.
Bernice touched the hearts of all who knew her. Her smile and laughter lit up a room. While living at the Odd Fellows Home, Bernice showed great concern and compassion for all the other residents she lived with. She treasured her family and her faith very much. Bernice also enjoyed the fresh air and watching Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune.
Her family would like to recognize and send a most heartfelt thanks to the second floor staff of the Odd Fellows Home, with special thanks to CNA Sam and Don who shared stories and laughter and showed great kindness while assisting her with care.
The funeral will be held on Thursday, May 7, 2015 from Henry-Dirsa Funeral Home, 33 Ward Street, Worcester with a Mass at 11:00 am in Saint John's Church, 44 Temple Street, Worcester, MA. A calling hour in the funeral home will be Thursday, from 9:30 am to 10:30 am Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in Bernice's name to Making Strides Against Breast Cancer, c/o American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St
